Michael Gilbert is Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Global Green Solutions Inc. With 20 years of private and public sector energy and environmental experience, Michael is responsible for leading strategy and business development of Global Green SolutionsÕ waste-biomass combustion and algae-biomass production technology businesses. In this role, he is responsible for relationship management between Global Green Solutions and their customers, strategic partners, and investors. Being based in New York, he has also been the companyÕs point man on financing issues at both the project and corporate level.
He has also provided business strategy consultation to several early-stage Cleantech companies in the areas of Renewable Energy (power and fuels), Energy Management, Green Buildings, Carbon Capture, and Sustainability.
Michael held corporate roles at Pitney Bowes for several years, first as their Energy and Environmental manager, and later as their manager for Futures Strategy. He was a founding partner of the Green Power Market Development Group, a collaboration of twelve leading corporations and the World Resources Institute dedicated to building corporate markets for green power. He began his career with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency remediating hazardous waste sites, and later managing international environmental assistance programs for Central and Eastern Europe.
Michael possesses an understanding of the relationship between finance, energy and the environment from both a technical and business perspective. He holds a BS in Agricultural and Biological Engineering and a MS in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University, as well as an MBA from the University of Connecticut. Michael is a licensed professional engineer (PE) and certified energy manager (CEM).
